When the war broke out, I had to leave with the children. My ex-husband and I agreed that he would take the cat and keep an eye on the house.
A couple of days later I find out from the neighbors that my ex-husband moved into the house with his mother! The house is jointly owned, we didn’t have time to sell and divide. At the time of his departure, he did not live with us for six months. My personal belongings, my children’s belongings were left there; all the dishes, bedding, appliances, and some of the furniture were my pre-marital possessions.
I, of course, called and voiced my displeasure. It turns out that strangers were living and managing my house without my consent. The house is small, only two rooms, one of which is now occupied by my ex-husband, and the other (the children’s room) is occupied by my ex-mother-in-law. The children and I have nowhere to go back to. My mother-in-law is 80 years old, she didn’t move well after she had a stroke and now has a broken leg and can’t walk at all.
I would feel compassion for the old sick person, but for some reason there is no sympathy at all, when I remember how drunken my ex-husband used to give us concerts, and we had to spend the night at the neighbor’s house. He broke my older son’s arm, but he paid money and the case was hushed up. He does not pay alimony and does not help us in any way. And when he came home, he suggested we all live together, me and the children in one room and him and his mother in the other!
I do not know how to resolve this issue. Now it is spring, everything is blooming, and I would be happy that the kids are with me and we are safe. But all I can think about is one thing.
