From the outside they seemed like the perfect couple. They met at work. He wooed me very nicely. He gave expensive gifts, huge bouquets of flowers.
He was a godsend. All her friends were jealous of Vitula. They thought she’d got her lucky ticket.
Of course, she was no mean girl, either. Pretty girl, always looking very good. People she knew said you must be wearing your hair and makeup to bed and waking up.
She parried that you just have to respect yourself. Victor’s advances she had accepted indulgently enough. But then her heart melted and she gave in and fell in love without memory. It was a beautiful romance!
They quit their jobs and started their own business. It went well and after a few years, they could already afford to buy a luxury apartment in the city center and change their cars to premium class. They traveled a lot. All in all, it was like a fairy tale life. But most importantly, this success has not changed them. They remained the same good guys. Which undoubtedly pleased all their friends, especially those whose lives were not very settled.
Victor made her a very beautiful proposal. All in all, everything was just like in the movies.
The wedding was royal – half of our city was there. We had a really good time!
In a year they had a beautiful little princess. And Victor and Vitalina were incredibly happy.
And then one day Vitalina receives a strange message on her phone saying that Victor is cheating on her.
She saw it and didn’t even give it much thought. After all, she knows Victor and no one would believe it.
Two hours later a video came to her phone where Victor was spending time with a girl, and then the pictures with other girls started pouring in, proving the fact that there were a lot of them.
Vitalina sat with the phone, as it turned out, until the evening! Good thing the babysitter was with the baby.
The divorce was hard. As it turned out later Victor was always cheating on her. And the worst part was that he rebuked Vitalina for not accepting it. HE said:
“Look, I’m a normal man. These women mean nothing to me. You and our daughter are the most important. And that’s just the way it is. Never mind. You’re making such a big deal out of this. Millions of women live like this. I mean, we’re doing all right. The whole town envies you. Look at your girlfriends drooling all over the floor, jealous of your perfect life.”
But she didn’t utter a word except the phrase:
“I want a divorce!”
He started screaming and threatening to leave her penniless. Going around the world.
She turned to him and said:
“I don’t want anything from you. I just want you out of my life forever. And if you have the courage to accept that and keep some semblance of a relationship for the sake of the baby, so she understands that she has both a mom and a dad. They just don’t live together. You’ve turned out to be a bad husband, but I really hope you remain a good father to our daughter and we can raise her together!”
He pulled away from her. And he realized that he had lost her forever and it was only in that moment that he realized the depth of what had happened in their lives.
The only thing he said was:
“Forgive me if you can!”
They divorced. Victor left her everything. Only the business they decided to sell and put the money in their daughter’s account until she came of age.
He left for another city and started life anew there. And Vitalina devoted her life to her daughter, and when she grew up, she opened a small business.
They had the wisdom to keep their relationship human, for the sake of their daughter. They communicate as friends.
