My parents force me to do programming

I am 15 years old. I don’t talk to my parents now, or rather, they don’t talk to me. It’s all because my dad is forcing me to study programming – “it will come in handy in the future”, he says.

I don’t deny, it will come in handy, yes. But it’s not something I’m passionate about. All this had been going on for over 3 years. I didn’t want to do it in the beginning, but I did it because of my dad, so he wouldn’t give up on me.

There was also one day when I was about 13 years old, my father said in the morning, “Get in the car.” He and I were fighting at the time. I got in, he drove me to his work, and in a threatening tone he said, “Do you want me to put you in an orphanage?”

I couldn’t say a word out of fear. He asked again, now in a raised tone, and I said in a trembling voice, “No.” He slapped me, and I got out of the car and walked home. Then he comes home like nothing happened and asks me how I’m doing.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m sick of this programming! My parents don’t even consider my interests.

I watch anime, my dad thinks it’s for gays, without any valid arguments. If I fail at something, he’ll tell me off with a three-story swear word. If I say any word that is not in the tone he likes, I get hit on the head with the palm of my hand with such force that it rings in my ears.

Can you give me some advice on how to get out of this situation? I don’t want to do programming. I just want to at least go out and walk with friends in peace. It feels like I have to do something I don’t want to and can’t do.
