I was married to a wealthy man. My husband was rich and generous.
He gave me all kinds of expensive gifts and spoiled me in every way. Although I had a higher education, I did not work. My husband didn’t want that; he liked me to wait at home and spend time with him alone.
Although I knew his financial affairs very well and could have been a great assistant to him. More than once, I offered it to him, but he resisted.
But then it happened that his business was not very good. The firm started to lose money. He had a heart attack and died because of all the worries.
I was left all alone. At 35, I was widowed. We never had children. Though we both dreamed of it. We wanted to enjoy all the pleasures of life first. So we enjoyed it.
He died, leaving me all alone. And then I found out, just a couple of months later, that my husband, a complete bankrupt, was at the end of his life.
All I have is our big apartment and a car. It turns out that his firm, has long been withdrawn to his partner Gregory. And he also had some unpaid bills, on which the penalties were growing and the amount was impressive, and if I do not pay – I lose even what I have left. I was in a panic. So much was piled up at once.
I had seen my husband’s companion just a couple of times when I visited my husband at work, back when he was still alive. I remembered him vaguely.
And literally six months later, after my husband died, a certain girl came to me and told me that she was expecting a child from him.
“You and my hubby, long ago he was going to divorce you and have a relationship with me. But he didn’t make it. So now I have full rights to the inheritance, especially since we will have a child. So, with an apartment and a car, you will have to leave, sharing everything with me, “- that was her tirade.
I did not really listen to her and asked to leave my apartment, she did not really want to do that, and she promised next time to come back with things, suggesting that I should get out in good order.
After she left, I burst into tears. It turned out that my husband had a mistress with whom he was going to live and raise children. How I was offended. But my sobs were stopped by a knock at the door.
I thought it was her again. Quickly wiped away my tears, and with a fighting spirit went to open the door. But on the threshold, stood my late husband’s companion Gregory.
He had come to offer me a job, now in his firm. We went into the kitchen to discuss over a cup of tea.
I cried and told him about the arrival of my husband’s pregnant mistress. He laughed, telling me that it was not true, that my husband, had always been faithful to me.
Grisha said it so confidently that I believed him. And then, he suggested that I get her out in the open by offering to do a paternity test.
And the next time she showed up, I told her that I would meet her in court, after the DNA test was done, and do whatever it took to get that test by law.
She was taken aback by my confidence and assertiveness. She had to leave with nothing to eat. And, of course, she never came back. And I was very grateful to Grisha for helping me in this situation. In addition, he helped me with a lawyer who helped me deal with my husband’s unpaid bills.
It has been a year and a half since these events. I work at Grigori’s firm, and we have started a relationship that will soon become a family one, since I am expecting a child.
